THE ICE CLEAR STORY
ICE CLEAR is the world's first transparent fin crafted from glass fibers — a BlackTech innovation developed for shallow-water spearfishing and freediving.
The transparent blade construction is designed to reduce visual contrast in the water, helping the fins blend naturally into the underwater environment.
Combined with the quiet movement of glass-fiber blades, ICE CLEAR is designed for close encounters with fish where stealth and controlled movement matter.
The fins are also well suited to divers who value comfort during extended swimming, snorkeling and shallow-water sessions.
WHY ICE CLEAR?
STEALTH
The transparent blade construction creates less visual contrast in the water, helping the fins blend into the underwater environment.
SILENCE
Glass-fiber construction provides smooth and controlled blade movement, making ICE CLEAR particularly suited to stealth-focused shallow-water hunting.
COMFORT
The progressive flex of the blade is designed for efficient and comfortable movement during long shallow-water sessions, swimming and snorkeling.
Choose the hardness according to your body weight and preferred fin stiffness.
Hardness 1 — up to 90 kg
Hardness 2 — 90+ kg
Hardness selection: Our hardness recommendations are based on the diver’s body weight, assuming approximately 4–6 kg of lead is used for dives beyond 15–20 m. Individual preferences, diving technique and physical strength may also influence the ideal hardness.
If you are between two options or are unsure which hardness is right for you, contact us for a recommendation.

100% glass fiber combined with a specially formulated epoxy system.
The blade features a variable structure, with a stiffer area around the foot and progressively softer flex towards the tip.
BlackTech uses laser-controlled fiberglass layer positioning to achieve consistent blade characteristics and precise stiffness distribution.
The blades are manufactured using VRTM technology with high temperature and high vacuum processing to achieve a highly consistent laminate with 0% void level.
The manufacturing environment is controlled for temperature and humidity. Each blade undergoes a 14-hour post-curing cycle controlled by PLC technology with temperature deviation of less than ±0.1°C.
The result is a precisely manufactured transparent glass-fiber blade with smooth flex, efficient energy transfer and consistent performance.
ICE CLEAR comes with black water rails as standard.
Red, blue and yellow water rails are also available as optional configurations.
The transparent blades feature a mirror finish on the front and back surfaces, creating the distinctive ICE CLEAR appearance.
The blade tips are shaped to provide efficient thrust while minimizing unnecessary energy consumption.
The progressive blade structure and optimized tip geometry provide smooth and continuous movement through the water.
ICE CLEAR is primarily designed for shallow-water spearfishing and freediving.
The fins can be used to depths of around 30 metres. For deeper vertical diving, BlackTech carbon models are recommended.
ICE CLEAR is particularly suited to:
• Shallow-water spearfishing
• Stealth-focused hunting
• Freediving at moderate depths
• Long swimming and snorkeling sessions
• Divers who prefer comfortable and progressive fiberglass blades
• Divers looking for a transparent, low-contrast fin design
ICE CLEAR fiberglass fins come with a 1-year written warranty.
The warranty applies according to BlackTech's official warranty terms.
BlackTech fins are produced upon order.
Typical production time is 25–45 business days, depending on current production workload.
Made in EU.
What makes ICE CLEAR different?
ICE CLEAR is made from transparent glass fiber rather than carbon fiber. Its transparent construction is designed to reduce visual contrast in the water and provide a stealth-oriented fin for shallow-water diving.
Which hardness should I choose?
Hardness 1 is designed for divers up to 90 kg. Hardness 2 is designed for divers over 90 kg. If you are unsure, contact us for a recommendation.
Can I use ICE CLEAR for deep diving?
ICE CLEAR can be used to around 30 metres. For deeper vertical diving, BlackTech carbon fins are recommended.
Are ICE CLEAR fins suitable for spearfishing?
Yes. ICE CLEAR was specifically designed for shallow-water spearfishing, where stealth, quiet movement and controlled finning are important.
Are ICE CLEAR fins suitable for freediving?
Yes. They are suitable for shallow and moderate-depth freediving, as well as extended swimming and snorkeling.
Which foot pockets are available?
ICE CLEAR is available with Mares Razor, Omer Stingray and Pathos foot pockets. Other foot pockets can be prepared on request.
What water rail colors are available?
Black is standard. Red, blue and yellow water rails are available as optional configurations.
How long does production take?
Typical production time is 25–45 business days, depending on current workload.
Is ICE CLEAR covered by a warranty?
Yes. ICE CLEAR fiberglass fins come with a 1-year written warranty according to BlackTech's warranty terms.
